Where it started: an invention
Dove Technology’s manufacturing arm grew from an in-house invention: a diesel tank overfill and bund alarm, designed and developed to warn operators before a fuel tank overflows or a bund fills, the same type of product now sold in the market by companies such as Centre Tank Services. It was Dove’s own design and development work, not a resold product, and it set the pattern for everything that followed: identify a safety or operational gap, then design, build and support the system that closes it.
Communications and alarm systems
Alongside manufacturing, Dove Technology built a communications and alarm systems arm, both reselling specialist third-party equipment and designing bespoke systems in-house:
- Sold and supported professional wireless and paging equipment from Scope Communications UK, designers and manufacturers of professional wireless solutions.
- Sold and supported staff-attack and nurse-call systems from Specialist Alarm Services (SAS UK).
- Was the main installer and support provider for Connevans, a specialist in equipment for deaf and hard-of-hearing people.
- Designed and delivered its own bespoke systems where nothing off-the-shelf fit the brief, including radio paging networks, radio fire alarm systems and deaf-alert systems that trigger a visual or vibrating alert when a fire alarm activates.
The business backed this with a fleet of engineers on the road, offering installation and support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, across the UK.

What grew out of Dove Technology
The wireless and communications expertise built up over 25 years of radio paging work became the springboard for two further businesses:
- Full Fibre Limited, which grew into one of the UK’s largest alternative network providers, reaching fibre coverage of over 600,000 properties and more than 100,000 customers.
- Rural Comms, a specialist wireless provider bringing broadband connectivity, via 5G or fixed wireless, to caravan and lodge parks, marinas, city centres and similar hard-to-reach sites.
The alarms and fire side of the business spun off separately into Omnixa Group, which Dan still owns.
Fibre, wireless, solar and data centres
Dan’s fibre and wireless expertise, developed over 25 years of radio paging work and deepened through Full Fibre and Rural Comms, continues today through Access Fibre Ltd, which Dan also leads. Solar and data centres are newer ground for the consultancy: markets Dan is moving into on the back of that utilities and infrastructure experience, rather than areas with an existing Dove Technology delivery history, so if that’s the conversation you want to have, we’re upfront that this is where the consultancy is expanding to, not a proven track record.
