What Rural Comms was

Rural Comms was a specialist connectivity business founded by Dan Jones, bringing fibre and wireless broadband to holiday parks, caravans, lodges, boats, farms and rural business parks across Devon and Cornwall. It grew out of the wireless and paging expertise built up at Dove Technology.
People staying at these sites — and businesses on farms and rural business parks — wanted the same connectivity they had at home: fast enough to work remotely, or just relax with the family streaming Netflix and playing Xbox. Rural, out-of-the-way sites simply didn’t have it. Rural Comms closed that gap, designing and building a connectivity solution for each site rather than offering one fixed product.

Fibre brought into the site, then extended across it by fibre or wireless — whichever suited the ground
Wireless meant a park didn’t need digging up where ducting wasn’t already in place
Delivered for holiday parks, caravans, lodges, boats, farms and rural business parks across Devon & Cornwall
Notable project: Harcombe House, the Fire Fighters Charity’s recovery and wellbeing centre

Dan kept the skillset and carried it forward: as Strategy Director at Telet Research (N.I.) Limited (Oct 2024 – Mar 2025), then in a supporting role at Synergy ICT (Mar 2025 – Jul 2026), doing the same wireless and connectivity work at sites in Wales. He’s open to partnerships building on this experience.
